Kirchberg
Families, individuals, and groups all experience the same feeling of well being in the picturesque resort of “Kirchberg im Brixental”, nestled in the gently rolling foothills of the “Kitzbüheler Alpen”. To the South of the vibrant little town lies the idyllic “Spertental” – a paradise for hiking and biking, and in the winter for downhill, touring, and cross-country skiing, and the sleepy village of Aschau. The many moods of the mountain scenery are entrancing for young and old alike. The “Vitalarena Kirchberg” – a centre with 13 Nordic walking paths and a wellness programme –was set up recently. Kirchberg has established itself as the mountain biking centre for the valley. The head of the Bike Academy himself is a co-organizer of Austria’s most trendy cycling marathon – the “Kitz-Alp-Bike” – with 700 starters. There are also many activities and programmes for children, and in the summer, the wonderful swimming lake or the “Kneippanlage” entice with all their attractions.
In winter, there are ample opportunities for parties after the day’s sporting activities … and for tasting inimitable regional dishes in the warm glow of true Tyrolean hospitality. The “Gaisberg” sports mountain with its (night) piste and (night) toboggan run is the home mountain for the residents of Kirchberg, and a favourite training ground for some of the finest skiers on the international circuit. Skiing fun is always just a short trip away, and Kirchberg is well served with many ski lifts … to the ski region of Kitzbühel … with the "3S"-cable car as far as the “Pass Thurn” on the one side, and with the “KI-West” to the ski region of Westendorf on the other.
